I decided to kick back and relax this weekend, and I must say it was well worth it! Although it was kind of rainy, it was sooooo humid and I decided I wanted to make something refreshing to drink. So, I decided to go with Sangria, which was an added bonus to my relaxing weekend. Sangria is typically something I’d make for a party, but since I had a bottle of white wine and some fruit handy, I said why not? Not only is sangria refreshing, there’s a variety of ways to make it too! Plus, it’s not full of calories and actually a great way to add some fruits to your day I’ve made it a few times before, using both red and white wines, and personally I think I like the traditional way of making sangria with red wine better. Let your sangria chill in the fridge for at least an hour, that way it’s cold and the fruit juices have some time to add more flavor. Some people choose to add sugar to sangria, but personally I’ve never added any because I think by letting the fruit infuse the liquids there is no need for added sweetness. Pictured above, is the spontaneous concoction I came up with!
- 1 bottle white wine – typically wines like Pinot Grigio, Moscato, and Reisling work well because they are sweet
- 1 liter of Diet Sprite
- Red grapes, sliced in half
Add the fruit, wine and Sprite to a pitcher. Give it a quick stir, add some ice and you’re ready for a refreshing drink!

- 1 bottle red wine – I like using Yellow Tail Shiraz
- 1 medium size orange, sliced
- strawberries, cut in half
- 1 medium size red apple (any kind you like), sliced
- 1 liter Ginger Ale
Add the fruit, Ginger Ale and wine to a pitcher. I like to squeeze the oranges before adding them. Stir it up, add some ice and serve.
- 1 bottle red wine
- 1 bottle Pomegranate Polar Seltzer
Who said you can’t a little fun with some wine? Go for it….all in moderation of course!😉
